This week I had the pleasure of attending the 4th Annual M-Enabling Summit in Washington DC. For those of you not familiar with the event, this summit is focused on bringing together the best international experts and leaders in accessible mobile technology. The overall approach of this event is more interactive round table discussions vs. lengthy one-sided presentations. SSB recently had the honor of partnering with Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind (CLB) to launch their first Basic Web Accessibility Tester Training Program with grant funding from the United Way. The first group of 8 students selected by CLB successfully completed the two-week program this month.
Accessibility is a key aspect of modern web development and document creation efforts. As a well-known expert in the area of IT accessibility, SSB recognizes the need to provide education on various accessibility topics. SSB’s Training and e-Learning Specialist Dr. Badrul H. Khan, a world-renowned educator, author, speaker and consultant in the field of e-learning, met with Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus last month to discuss potential collaborations in projects focusing on using and leveraging ICTs and modern technology with the intention of boosting economic activity in developing nations and beyond.
